WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE OBSTACLE THOUGHTS?

Do you have obstacle thoughts?
I used to think laundry took hours to do. Turns out, it takes like less than 10 minutes to fold a load. Ok, maybe even 8.. or 4... especially if it's towels.
But I would spend all day dreading doing it and staring at it and feeling guilty for not doing it... and ... IT DID TAKE ME HOURS!!
You know those bobble head toys? Big head, small body? That's how my brain has felt my whole life. Heavy. Hard to carry around. I try to do something and my head would drag my down. Doubts. Fear. Questions.
I know a lady with 8 kids. I stayed at their house for a while. She would make lists, and then execute. Done. Done. Done.
I'd watch and I'd be like "BUT WHAT ABOUT THINKING ABOUT IT? WHEN DO YOU DO THAT??? "
Turns out she didn't think about it. She'd already decided and there you go. Totally baffled me - but also showed me that there was another way.
Thoughts are like the water we are swimming in. Some people, the water is clear and clean and they just have to go through the process. Other people... it's murky, muddy and full of debris.
It's work to clean it up, BUT IT'S SO WORTH IT.
Imagine doing things you want to do -WITHOUT RESISTANCE?!!! I found that idea so attractive. So it's not about disciplining yourself, or forcing yourself, or overcoming anything. It seems counter productive - you have to stop before you start. It's not all about effort. But it is a lot of work.
Do you even KNOW what you think about?
Do you even KNOW that you have thoughts in your head that are obstacles TO THE VERY THINGS YOU WANT?
There is stuff in your head that is not true and it weighs you down. It motivates you and creates decisions without your realizing it. It's your default. The only way to find out what it is, is to STOP, sit, and discover your own thoughts and beliefs.
It's hard to be a bobble head. Good news, it's not necessary.
